A laser was controlled by a fast time-delayed negative feedback with self-excitation of
electric oscillations. A control system with a resonant frequency of ~ 1 GHz based on a
high-voltage silicon mesostructure was designed and used for a Nd3+:YAG laser.
The formation of a fine time structure of radiation in a laser cavity was investigated with
the aid of a streak camera. The minimum duration of laser pulses was 70 ps ? 20%.
