Abstract:
To conduct a pilot-scale work on detection of a new fundamental phenomenon of breakdown based on runaway electrons, a source of initiating electrons with energies of 200 - 250keV was constructed. A double shaping line composed of high-voltage cables was chosen as a pulse voltage generator. The Monte Carlo method was used to study the parameters of the beam injected into the atmosphere as a function of the initial energy of electrons.
