Abstract:
It is shown that the temperature T, the velocity v, and the pressure P at the outer boundary of a dense nanosecond laser-produced plasma near a solid target in vacuum are, in agreement with the experiment [1, 2], expressed as the following functions of the intensity of radiation incident on the plasma: v2 ~ ? ~ I1/3 and P ~ I5/6. These relationships correspond to the power balance I ~ Pv and the Poisson adiabat P ~ ?γ/γ-1 for γ = 5/3
