Abstract:
A study is made of the effect of thermal electron motion in a beam and a plasma on the development of nonresonance radiation Pierce instability in a plasma waveguide. It is shown that the increment of the upper optical oscillation branch is sensitive to beam heating while the increment of the lower sound oscillation branch depends on the plasma parameters.
