Abstract:
Photoluminescence of quantum-well structures based on GaAs/GaAlAs and doped with
Yb either in the course of molecular-beam epitaxy or by ion implantation is studied.
The specific luminescence due to Yb3+ ions was observed only after an additional implantation of oxygen.
The luminescence intensity for rare-earth ions in quantum-well structures and in bulk material are compared.
