Abstract:
An analysis is made of the nonlinear stability of a flow of a molten metal film along the melting front with allowance for evaporation from the free surface under the action of intense laser radiation. The dominant factor governing the formation of nonlinear wave regimes of melt runoff are found. Estimates of the amplitude and period of nonlinear waves are obtained.
