Abstract:
We derived solutions for nonlinear ionization waves under conditions of stepwise ionization and nonlocal heating of electrons in which case it was possible to ignore the oscillations of the electron temperature. We also found solutions corresponding to propagation of the ionization-wave front followed by the electron density oscillations. Such a structure corresponds to the experimentally observed electron density distribution in the head portion of the discharge based on a surface wave.
