Abstract:
The results of an experimental investigation of the spectral characteristics of an X-ray source around a laser-produced-plasma cathode are outlined. The experiments revealed that the radiation spectrum is, for the appropriate accelerating voltage, practically monochromatic and confined to the characteristic lines of the anode material. With a titanium anode, in particular, the number of photons emitted in the ? lines was 1011 per radiation pulse.
