POLYHEDRAL REPRESENTATION OF SEVEN DIFFERENT WAYS OF NONCRYSTALLOGRAPHIC T27-CLUSTER CONDENSATION

Abstract:
The T27-cluster, i.e., an atomic cluster of 27 tetracoordinated atoms with binary parameter 0 38?, can be represented in the form of polyhedrons of two its sublattices a three-colored icosahe-dron and a two-colored distorted tetrahexahedron. Then the condensation of T27-clusters by common hexacycles may be treated as joining together identical or different polyhedrons by gray faces, and the condensation by triquetras - as joining together icosahe-drons by colored faces. Another four possible ways of condensation, when the center of a T27-cluster becomes the beginning of a next one, along [111] and [111], [100] and [rOl] directions, can also be represented as joining together two types of polyhedrons.
