Abstract:
The dependence of the energy flux of a cable plasma wave on the frequency and transverse geometry is investigated for a waveguide with a thin plasma in an infinitely strong magnetic field. Exact and asymptotic formulas are given for a normalized energy flux as a function of the coordinate in the transverse waveguide section. This quantity is demonstrated to correspond to the power reflectivity in the short-wavelength limit calculated involving exact boundary conditions.
