Abstract:
The effect of the mean free path of coherent polaritons and the finite width of the phase-matching curve for the four-photon process on the shape and width of the line of coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) by polaritons has been studied theoretically. These factors are shown to restrict significantly the range of the polariton damping which can be measured from the CARS spectra.
