Abstract:
An anomalous (negative) thermal expansion of MgB2 was revealed experimentally in the
low-temperature range. The magnetic field H = 36kOe decreases the absolute value of the negative
coefficient of thermal expansion and displaces the anomaly maximum temperature towards lower temperatures.
The nature of this anomaly and the common character of the anomalous MgB2 and oxide HTSC properties are discussed.
