Abstract:
Numerical simulations by the particle-in-cell technique were employed to investigate the temporal charging characteristics of dust particles and the kinetic characteristics of the stationary state. A comparison was made with several theoretical results (primarily in the context of the diffusion-drift model) and with ab initio calculations performed by the molecular dynamics technique.
