Abstract:
A simple formula for the width of the shift of the scattered radiation field frequency relative to the pumping field frequency in SBS is obtained in a comparatively wide range of pumping intensities when the nonlinear law has a root dependence on the intensity excess over the threshold of parametric instability. The SBS line width may substantially exceed the ion sound damping factor.
