2. Title:
VALIDITY OF THE EIKONAL APPROXIMATION FOR THE DESCRIPTION OF REACTION CROSS SECTIONS IN NUCLEUS-NUCLEUS COLLISIONS AT ENERGIES BELOW 100 MeV/NUCLEON
Authors:
V.P. Zavarzina, A.V. Stepanov.

Abstract:
Calculations are made of the total reaction cross sections for interacting nuclei (including halo nuclei) with A between 6 and 208 in the first approximation of the noneikonal expansion for phe-nomenological optical potentials in the projectile-particle energy range from 5 to 100 MeV/nucleon. The properly noneikonal corrections are shown to be small in the energy range investigated, while significantly larger corrections to the eikonal approximation are due to the effects of the nuclear medium.
