Abstract:
A physical model is proposed for daily and hourly oscillations in the concentrations of segmented neutrophils and lymphocytes in mice and humans (both healthy and affected by acute leukemia and various inflammatory diseases). The model is formulated in terms of coupled Van der Pol equations with a time lag. The model solutions are in good agreement with the experimental data.
