Abstract:
The stability of a deep vapor-gas cavity in heterogeneous condensed systems, formed by a laser penetrating deep into the medium, is investigated. The dispersion equation of the instability relating its characteristics to the parameters of radiation and the relaxation properties of a viscoelastic heterogeneous medium is derived. The influence of the relaxation time on the instability increment, on the frequency of viscoelastic oscillations, and on the size of the drops injected into the cavity volume is analyzed.
