RESONANCES IN ELECTRON SCATTERING BY MOLECULES

Abstract:
The main features of resonance electron scattering by molecules are considered and the resonances are determined on the basis of the two-body collision theory. The resonances due to collision in a several-body system are also determined. The laws of appearance of these resonances and their characteristics are investigated. The resonance processes occurring in collisions of electrons with diatomic molecules are calculated within the several-body quantum scattering theory. The results of the performed calculations of cross sections of resonant collisions between electrons and molecules are compared with the available experimental data and with the results of calculations based on other approximations.
