ELECTROMAGNETIC RESPONSE OF IONOSPHERIC PLASMA TO THE SINKING OF MIR SPACE STATION
Authors:
V.N. Kunin, V.S. Pleshivtsev, A.A. Rukhadze, D.M. Belov.

Abstract:
Low-frequency radio perturbations of the Earth ionosphere due to the sinking of Mir space station on March 23, 2001, from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and to the earthquake, which occurred close to the Iranian-Iraqi border the same day between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., are recorded. These perturbations and the perturbations due to the entry of the Leonids meteors into the Earth ionosphere on November 17, 1998 are compared and shown to be similar with account of temporal scaling.
