Abstract:
Directed interlayer electron transfer upon photoexcitation was examined in bilayer Langmuir-Blodgett structures consisting of a monolayer of donor-acceptor phytokhlorin-fulleren dyad molecules and a monolayer of diacetyl alcohol molecules. In a bilayer structure, the spacing between separated charges and the lifetime of this state increased compared to those in the dyad monolayer. The photovoltaic response signal was found to depend on the degree of polymerization of the diine monomer monolayer.
