Abstract:
On the basis of the one-dimensional thermal model allowing for the possibility of the occurrence of additional interfaces we investigate the volume boiling of absorbing condensed media heated by laser radiation. Within such an approach, periodic explosive boiling can be observed under certain conditions during the action of a nanosecond laser pulse. The dependences of the main features of such a process on the intensity and shape of the laser pulse and on the evaporation kinetics are examined.
