Abstract:
The SBS compression of a laser pulse, initiated by a two-frequency Stokes seed, is studied experimentally. It is shown that for a seed wave frequency difference Si/ and a compressed pulse duration r such that TSV ? 1/2 the pulse is additionally compressed and the trailing edge of the obtained pulse is shortened. Light pulses of such a shape can be useful in obtaining and investigation of stimulated Rayleigh line wing scattering (SRLWS). The effect of displacement of seed signal frequency from the center of Brillouin line with the formation of a dip is discovered for the first time in the SBS amplification regime.
