Title: ACTIVE RF PLASMA ANTENNA SELF-CONSISTENT
WITH THE SOURCE OF VIBRATIONS Authors: I.M. Minaev, A.A. Rukhadze, K.F. Sergeichev, A.Y. Trefilov. Abstract: We studied experimentally the RF-discharge plasma in a radiotransparent tube with rarefied gas as an active antenna when the discharge tube was used instead of a metal rod in an asymmetric dipole antenna. We showed that the conversion efficiency of such a plasma antenna into radio emission can be close to the efficiency of a metal dipole. As distinct from the active conductivity of a metal, the conductivity of plasma with rare collisions has a reactive character, which however does not prevent the plasma antenna from operating like a metal dipole when the double inequality ??p >> ?? >> ?? holds, i.e., when the plasma frequency is higher than the field frequency and the field frequency is higher than the electron collision frequency in the gas. It is shown that for a high plasma electron concentration the characteristics of the electromagnetic field of the plasma antenna correspond to the field characteristics of a traditional metal antenna.
