Title: PECULIARITIES OF THE FREQUENCY SPECTRUM
OF MHD WAVES GENERATED BY A IMMERSED PLANE PLASMA JET Authors: V.G. Kirtskhaliya, A.A. Rukhadze. Abstract: Approximate solutions to the dispersion equation for the eigenmodes of a immersed plane plasma jet are analyzed in the regions of low and high phase velocities of perturbation propagation. At low phase velocities, the frequency spectrum of MHD waves is shown to be continuous the oscillations being of surface character. At high phase velocities, the frequency spectrum is discrete and the oscillations are of bulk nature.
