TWO-PHOTON-EXCITED SECONDARY EMISSION IN ULTRADISPERSED MEDIUM

Abstract:
The spectra of the two-photon-excited secondary emission (the hyper-Rayleigh and hyper-Raman light scatterings and the two-photon-excited luminescence) are studied. A new technique for the excitation of Raman optical processes in ultradispersed media is proposed. This technique is based on the use of (1) metallic cavity cells and quartz light guides to inject laser radiation into the scattering medium and (2) additional light guides to extract the secondary radiation from the cell. The conditions for realization of a stimulated secondary emission (including the stimulated Raman scattering and the stimulated two-photon scattering) are established. It is shown that under certain conditions the Raman opalescence is observed. This phenomenon consists in a sharp increase in the relative intensity of Raman scattering compared with the exciting-line intensity at the output of the cavity cell.
