Abstract:
We calculated the electron contribution to the longitudinal permittivity of weakly collisional plasma in a wide frequency range with allowance for both the collisionless and collisional mechanisms of energy dissipation. For the frequency, wavenumber, ion ionization multiplicity, and electron-ion collision frequency we obtained conditions for realization of various regimes of collisional electron contribution to the ion-sound wave damping. Explicit expressions for the electron decrement in these regimes are presented.
