Abstract:
The influence of the diffusion-limited and thermal-fluctuation regions (region II and region III) of the defect growth rate curve on the inert strength of optical fibers after the control test was estimated. It was shown that the minimum inert strength of optical fibers after testing can be close to the test load and even exceed it at unloading rates characteristic of modern test equipment.
