Abstract:
An analysis is made of the method of interference-threshold recording of optical information in which threshold photosensitive media are used. It is shown that the absence of coordinates of the lines of maximum (minimum) of the interference factor in an interferogram is the main problem of its application to the measurement of arbitrary inhomogeneities of laser beams. The use of the uniform-beam approximation and the condition that the ratio of inhomogeneity size to the interference period is about 15 enables one to measure small local minima with an accuracy of ~ 20%. For large local minima and for local maxima, the measurement accuracy is higher. As the ratio of the inhomogeneity size to the interference period increases above the aforementioned value, the measurement accuracy increases.
