MAGNETOELECTRIC INTERACTIONS AND H-E PHASE DIAGRAMS OF AN ANTIFERROMAGNETIC FERROELECTRIC WITH SPIN-MODULATED STRUCTURE

Abstract:
The effect of magnetoelectric interactions both uniform − of (P [L, M]) type interactions, where P is electric torque vector, M and L are magnetization and antiferromagnetism vectors, and nonuniform − of Lifshitz type interactions on magnetic phase transitions in BiFeO3 type ferromagnets is investigated. H-E phase diagrams of the material are constructed for different values of parameters. New types of magnetic phase transitions induced by an electric field or by a joint action of an electric and magnetic fields are predicted and studied theoretically.
