Abstract:
To obtain approximate solutions to the equation ''(x) + Q(x)(x) = 0, we introduce a model equation y''(x,)+q(x,)y(x,)=0, where  = {a1, a2, ...} is a set of parameters. The model equations are constructed in such a way that their exact solutions are mainly expressed in terms of elementary functions. The concept of the construction of these solutions is presented and exemplified. The numerical values of the parameters  are determined in each segment of the x axis from the condition that the model function q(x,) is close to the given function Q(x). The model solutions y(x, ) can also be considered as separate special functions of interest for the problems of quantum and classical mechanics.
