Abstract:
The dependence of the luminescence spectrum of thin films of poly(p-phenylene) on the excitation frequency ωex is studied at room temperature. It is found that upon laser excitation below a threshold frequency of 22060cm-1, the excitation becomes selective and the luminescence spectrum begins to shift with ωex. The theoretical model is suggested which describes migration of electronic excitations in disordered polymer systems. The analytic expression is obtained which relates the localization threshold of excitations to the Forster radius and concentration of optical centers.
