Abstract:
We consider the passage of high-power high-frequency electromagnetic waves through a nonuniform layer of dense magnetic plasma in which there exist domains of the upper hybrid resonance. It is shown that the change of the density profile due to ponderomotive forces acting on the plasma opens up the possibility for an anomalous increase in the layer transmittance to the wave. Under these conditions, the reflectivity can become negligible.
