MEASUREMENT OF OPTICAL PATH LENGTH GRADIENTS USING CORRELATION PROCESSING OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF RANDOM PATTERNS
Authors:
V.N. Borkova, A.V. Kraisky, T.V. Mironova, T.T. Sultanov.

Abstract:
A method is proposed for measuring the refractive index gradient in an optically transparent medium using a random binary pattern as an analogue of the speckle structure. As concerns the data processing, the method is similar to ordinary digital speckle photography; however, the correlation processing of two photographs is used instead of determination of the displacements from the fringe width and the direction. The achieved accuracy is not lower than the accuracy of speckle photographic methods.
