Title: POLYNOMIAL REPRESENTATION OF THE NUCLEAR OPTICAL POTENTIAL Authors: Y.K. Khokhlov. Abstract: A piecewise polynomial function doubly differentiable in the entire spatial r-axis is proposed for the description of the nuclear optical potential. In its middle part this function virtually coincides with the well-known Woods-Saxon function, while at the edges, it is free of certain disadvantages inherent in the latter function. As an additional consequence, the calculation rate for the function describing the potential increases and a natural variation of the function shape in the vicinity of the origin of the r-axis becomes possible.
