APERIODIC MULTILAYER MIRRORS FOR SOFT X-RAY SPECTROSCOPY
Authors:
N.N. Kolachevskii, A.S. Pirozhkov, E.N. Ragozin.

Abstract:
We developed a technique for calculating multilayer structures optimized to provide a given reflection spectrum in the soft X-ray range (2 Å < λ < 300 Å). It was determined that among the multitude of realizations of irregular (aperiodic) structures there exist those which are superior to the usual one in width of the operating range, integral reflectivity, etc. We have derived structures with a constant normal-incidence reflectivity throughout the 130 - 190 Å (24%) and 130 - 300 Å (15%) ranges and structures with a constant reflectivity at ? θ ≈ 41? off normal, which possess high polarizability throughout the operating ranges. Structures possessing several isolated reflection peaks were calculated.
