Abstract:
The question of the passage of a collisionless laser-produced plasma through a cell of an ion-extracting grid is considered in the context of a two-dimensional stationary model. It is shown that for moderately high voltages the electrons are expelled by the electric field and do not reach the primary grid, which is at zero bias. The transmittance of the grids to ions is primarily determined by the geometrical factor.
